Martin Luther Standing On His Head

Before he broke through to the truth of the gospel, the reformer Martin Luther lived in fear of the wrath of God. Luther knew that he was a great sinner like all of us, but the difference is that Luther felt it. He said,
"If I could believe that God was not angry with me, I would stand on my head for joy" (Oberman, Luther: Man Between God and the Devil, p.315).
Praise God Luther kept seeking God in the Scriptures until the glorious revelation came! No longer condemned! Justified by faith in Christ! Hallelujah!
"Since, therefore, we have now been justified by his blood, much more shall we be saved by him from the wrath of God." Romans 5:9
Are you a sinner? Do you know from Scripture that God is justly angry with sinners, and therefore angry with you? Look to Christ! He took the wrath of God in the place of sinners at the cross, that we may enter into the love and peace and eternal favor of God! Hallelujah!

See the glory of Christ, and go stand on your head with Luther.
